Every now and then, SGBI has the wonderful opportunity to partner with small organizations to throw some amazing events in our community for a good cause. So you could imagine our excitement when our good friends at The Center for Community Health & Well Being, Inc. (CCHWB) asked us to help them *organize their First Annual Jazz Fundraiser!
The CCHWB is a Sacramento, CA based nonprofit that provides prenatal and gynecological care through The Birthing Project Clinic, as well as comprehensive risk reduction/leadership programs targeted towards female youth through the Leadership and Empowerment Institute for Girls and Young Women.
The fundraiser, however, specifically benefited the Black Mother’s United (BMU) program, which provides education, resources and support to pregnant African-American women residing in Sacramento County, to help ensure a safe pregnancy, and a healthy baby.
Through patron’s support, the BMU program will continue to support of health care for low-income, African American pregnant women and fight to reduce the disproportionate infant mortality rate in Sacramento’s African American community.

*Full disclosure: We really do like to party, but sometimes we like planning part better. If you know a small nonprofit that may need help organizing a fundraising event, let us know…we may be able to help!
